A.R.M (2024) Hindi Dubbed Movie
A.R.M (Ajayante Randam Moshanam) is a 2024 Malayalam action-adventure film. It is directed by Jithin Laal and written by Sujith Nambiar. Tovino Thomas stars in triple roles. Other cast members include Basil Joseph, Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Surabhi Lakshmi.
The film was released on 12 September 2024, during the Onam festival. It received positive reviews for its performances, direction, story, visuals, and music. With a budget of ₹50 crore, it grossed ₹107 crore at the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2024.
The film begins with a grandmother telling her granddaughter a story about Chyothivilaku, a sacred light made from an asteroid. The Edakkal King ordered its creation. When thugs attacked the land, the king called Kunjikelu, a warrior, for help. After Kunjikelu's victory, the king gave him the lamp. Kunjikelu took it back to Haripuram and promised to build a temple for all to access the light.
Smallpox spread through the village. Kunjikelu saved Chothi, a woman from a lower caste, but he later learns that the temple would not allow lower-caste people. Distraught, Kunjikelu dies. His village becomes known as Chyothikkavu.
Kunjikelu’s descendant, Maniyan, was a thief who died after stealing the Chyothivilaku.
In the 1990s, Ajayan, Maniyan’s grandson, is an electrician. He is secretly in love with Lakshmi but suffers because of his grandfather's bad reputation. His only theft as a child was a bunch of keys, which he returned after advice from his family. One day, a man named Sudev shows up, claiming to be a photographer. He wants to steal the real Chyothivilaku and sell it to British archives. Ajayan is forced to help find the lamp. After searching, Lakshmi suggests he check places only Maniyan could access.
Ajayan finds cave paintings and learns that years ago, Maniyan went into hiding. The villagers brought a policeman named Nanjappa to catch him. Maniyan beat Nanjappa and planned to steal the lamp to prove his wife’s dignity mattered more than the idol. He found the lamp in the cave, but a blacksmith named Naanu told him it was fake. Maniyan then sought the real lamp.
Maniyan faced many challenges and eventually found the real lamp. On his way to return it, he was trapped by the townspeople. They threatened his wife and daughter, so Maniyan threw himself into a waterfall to avoid giving up the lamp. He died, but his actions were remembered.
In the present, Ajayan participates in a Kalaripayattu competition but fails under Sudev’s orders. He tries to run away but is trapped. He escapes with help but is chased by the villagers to the same hillside where his grandfather died. Ajayan falls into the waterfall but survives. Using a key his mother gave him, Ajayan finds the real lamp. After defeating Sudev and his men, he returns the lamp to Chyothikkavu. The film ends with Ajayan riding in a car, where Lakshmi is taken away by her father, suggesting Ajayan’s true love was his second theft.
The final scene shows Maniyan overlooking Chyothikkavu, where a pillar of light erupts, hinting that he survived and might have saved Ajayan.
