Do Patti is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language thriller film. It is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon. The film stars Kajol, Kriti Sanon, and Shaheer Sheikh. It marks Kriti Sanon’s first production venture. The film was released on Netflix on 25 October 2024.

The story begins in Devipur, Uttarakhand. Saumya and Dhruv are at a police station. Saumya accuses Dhruv of attempting to kill her. The narrative then flashes back to past events.

Police officer Vidya Jyothi (VJ) receives a domestic abuse call. She investigates but finds it dismissed as a false alarm. However, Maaji, a maternal figure to Saumya, confides in her. Maaji reveals that Saumya is a victim of Dhruv's abuse. Despite suffering severe violence, Saumya refuses to speak out.

Through Maaji, more details emerge. Dhruv is a minister’s son and owns a paragliding company. He met Saumya, who fell deeply in love with him. Saumya introduced Dhruv to her family. There, her identical twin, Shailee, also fell for him. Shailee has always resented Saumya. Saumya was given more attention due to her mental health struggles.

Dhruv and Shailee started dating. However, Shailee’s unpredictable behavior worried Dhruv’s father. He advised Dhruv to marry someone stable. Dhruv chose Saumya. Even after the marriage, Shailee continued to pursue Dhruv. This created tension between the sisters.

VJ learns about Dhruv’s violent behavior and the sisters’ rivalry. Maaji explains Dhruv’s reactions to Saumya’s wish for children. He became furious whenever she brought it up. In one incident, he pushed her down the stairs, leaving her unconscious. Saumya covered for him, claiming it was an accident. She even promised to rebuild their relationship.

One day, Saumya suggests a paragliding trip. She hopes Dhruv will recreate his proposal and rekindle their bond. Meanwhile, Maaji starts collecting evidence against him. During a Holi celebration, Shailee and Dhruv share an intimate moment. Saumya notices this and decides to act.

During the paragliding trip, Dhruv’s harness fails mid-flight. Both he and Saumya survive narrowly. Saumya accuses Dhruv of attempting to kill her. She claims he loosened her harness to push her out. Evidence supports her accusation. Dhruv is arrested and charged with attempted murder and domestic violence. He is sentenced to prison.

VJ senses something unusual about the case. She investigates further and discovers the truth. Before the trip, Saumya and Shailee had swapped roles. Shailee sabotaged Dhruv’s harness, ensuring it would fail. Together, they framed Dhruv for the crime.

When VJ confronts them, Shailee defends their actions. She reveals the family’s history of abuse. Their mother also suffered in silence. Shailee regrets not acting sooner to protect her. VJ reflects on domestic violence as a societal issue.

Convinced of Dhruv’s guilt, VJ drops her appeal. Saumya finally finds closure. Dhruv faces justice, and the sisters move forward with their lives.

The film was officially announced on 5 July 2023 as a Netflix thriller titled Do Patti, starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon. This marked their second collaboration after Dilwale (2015). It also marked Kriti Sanon’s production debut under her banner, Blue Butterfly Films. In October 2023, television actor Shaheer Sheikh joined the cast.
