Aju, Bibi, and Shanthan move from Kerala to Bangalore to pursue a degree in aeronautical engineering at Vaana Veekshan College. Hoping for freedom, they choose to stay at the BK Hostel rather than the college dormitory. Initially, life is fun and carefree until they have a confrontation with Kutty, a senior student whose ego is bruised. Kutty retaliates, abducting them with his gang, beating them brutally, and then offering a false gesture of friendship to assert dominance.

Feeling humiliated, Aju decides to seek revenge. The trio starts visiting local bars to find a gangster who can help them. Their search leads them to Ranjith "Ranga" Gangadharan, a Malayali-Kannadiga gangster with a reputation for being both dangerous and kind-hearted. With his humorous and strong henchman Ambaan, Ranga takes the trio under his wing and promises to protect them.

One evening, after a night of drinking, Ranga drops the trio back at their hostel. However, the hostel warden scolds them for breaking curfew. In response, Ranga offers them his old house as a safe haven. Over time, the trio begins to question Ranga’s influence, noticing that his gang is more about talk than action. Frustrated, Bibi challenges Ranga to take action against Kutty. Ranga responds by brutally humiliating Kutty and his gang during the college Holi celebration.

As their association with Ranga deepens, the trio faces consequences. Their studies suffer, and their reputation at college declines. They also uncover a grim truth about Ranga’s past hidden in his house. Disturbed, they decide to distance themselves from him. Meanwhile, they are kidnapped by Reddy, Ranga’s former boss, who accuses Ranga of stealing his identity. Reddy threatens them, demanding their help to eliminate Ranga. Intimidated, they flee to a different hostel in Tumkur to escape both Reddy and Ranga, hoping for a fresh start.

Ranga, unaware of their betrayal, searches for the trio. When they finally call him to confront him, they reveal their true intentions and admit they only befriended him to deal with Kutty and his gang. They blame Ranga for the troubles in their lives. Hurt and betrayed, Ranga summons his gang. The trio panics and calls Reddy, asking him to come and eliminate Ranga once and for all.

Reddy arrives with his men and attacks Ranga, burning his beloved Toyota Qualis. Breaking his vow to avoid personal violence, Ranga retaliates, killing all of Reddy’s men in a ferocious showdown reminiscent of action sequences seen in Bollywood movies. In the aftermath, Ranga corners the trio and reveals that he kept them close because they made him feel less lonely—until their betrayal. The trio, overwhelmed with guilt, apologizes. Ranga forgives them but decides to leave their lives for good.

In the end, Aju and Bibi fail their exams, while Shanthan manages to pass. They encounter Ranga outside their college, where he humorously scolds Aju and Bibi for failing. The film ends on a light-hearted note, suggesting reconciliation and a continued bond.
