Agni (2024) Hindi Full Movie Watch Online
Agni is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language action thriller directed and written by Rahul Dholakia. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, the film is a collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. It stars Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, Jitendra Joshi, Saiyami Kher, and Kabir Shah in key roles.
Set in a city plagued by a mysterious rise in fires, Agni follows Vithal, a brave firefighter. He teams up with his brother-in-law Samit, a skilled but stubborn policeman. Together, they investigate the crisis. As tensions rise, they must set aside their differences to stop a looming disaster threatening Mumbai.
The film’s premise feels fresh since Hindi films rarely focus on firefighters. The action scenes are thrilling, but the family drama slows down the pace.
Set in 2017, the story revolves around a Mumbai firehouse led by Chief Vithal (Pratik Gandhi). A series of devastating fires break out in high-rise buildings, leading to the death of a firefighter. Investigator Avni (Saiyami Kher) discovers accelerants at multiple fire scenes. It becomes clear that an arsonist is at work.
Meanwhile, Samit (Divyenndu), a top Mumbai cop, investigates the assassination of a politician. His leads connect the suspects to the same burned buildings. The firefighters and police must collaborate to solve the case.
However, tensions exist between the two departments. Firefighters receive less respect, funding, and recognition compared to the police. For Vithal, the rivalry feels personal. His son Amya (Kabir Shah) idolizes Samit more than him.
The film struggles to explain whether this public disrespect is real or a fictional conceit. If it is fictional, Rahul Dholakia’s script, co-written with Vijay Maurya, needed more context. Most of this “disrespect” plays out in small scenes. For instance, Samit’s colleagues mock Vithal at a housewarming party.
Some scenes feel unnecessary. A dinner at a Japanese restaurant and moments in Samit’s police station drag the story. These scenes take focus away from Vitthal’s emotional struggles. His deeper pain comes from Amya growing up and no longer seeing him as a hero. This father-son angle is far more engaging but gets little attention.
The film shines during its fire-fighting sequences. These action scenes are well-executed and tense. The flames look real, and the CGI is seamless. The editing keeps the danger palpable.
Pratik Gandhi delivers a strong performance as Vithal. He excels in scenes with his firefighter crew—Avni, Jazz (Udit Arora), and Mahadev (Jitendra Joshi). Sai Tamhankar is understated as Vithal’s wife, Ruku, though her role feels underdeveloped.
Agni works best when it focuses on the firefighters and their struggles. However, too much time is spent on the family drama and police station scenes. The film’s emotional and action-packed moments stand out, but the narrative loses focus along the way.
