Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024) is a Bollywood movie in the Hindi language. Directed by Anees Bazmee, it is written by Aakash Kaushik and produced by T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios. The film is the third installment in the popular Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, following Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022).

The movie features a stellar cast, including Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. Set in Kolkata, it blends comedy and horror with an intriguing storyline. Officially announced in March 2023, the movie was filmed between March and September 2024, with locations in Mumbai, Kolkata, Orchha, and Leh. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released theatrically on 1 November 2024, coinciding with Diwali. The movie received mixed reviews but became a box-office hit, grossing ₹417 crore globally.

Ruhaan "Rooh Baba" Randhawa is a con artist posing as a ghostbuster. He is tricked into visiting a haunted palace, where he learns he resembles Debendranath, a prince from 200 years ago. The palace is haunted by the spirit of Manjulika, who killed her brother Debendranath in a fit of rage over a royal dispute.

However, the story takes a twist when it is revealed that Debendranath’s ghost, not Manjulika’s, has been causing the disturbances. He seeks revenge for his unjust death and eventually finds peace after a series of supernatural events. Meanwhile, Ruhaan confronts his frauds in a surprising turn of events. In the mid-credit scene, ACP Rathore, disguised as a buyer, arrests Ruhaan for his scams.

The film’s production began in March 2024 with a ceremonial puja in Mumbai. Shooting locations included iconic places like Howrah Bridge and Victoria Memorial in Kolkata and Orchha Fort in Madhya Pradesh. Director Anees Bazmee faced challenges during filming, including working on set in a wheelchair after an injury.

Elaborate sets were built for the movie, including a massive palace replica for key sequences. The film features grand dance numbers, including a jugalbandi between Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan. A romantic track with Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri was shot in Leh, Ladakh. Two different climaxes were filmed to maintain suspense, and the production wrapped up in August 2024.

Despite mixed reviews, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 emerged as a major success in the Bollywood movie industry. Its gripping plot, high production value, and stellar performances made it the second highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2024.
