Kalki 2898 AD (2024) Hindi Full Movie

Kalki 2898 AD is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language science fiction action film. It is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. The film features a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Shobana, Pasupathy, and Anna Ben. Inspired by Hindu scriptures, it is the first film in the Kalki Cinematic Universe.

The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. It revolves around a mission to protect SUM-80, a pregnant lab subject. She is carrying Kalki, the 10th and final avatar of Vishnu.

Backstory
After the Kurukshetra War, Ashwatthama commits a grave sin. He attempts to kill Uttarā's unborn child. Krishna curses him for his act. He is condemned to roam the earth as an immortal during the Kali Yuga. He must witness humanity's decline. His divine gem is taken from his forehead. He can only find redemption by protecting Kalki's mother.

The Post-Apocalyptic World
In 2898 AD, the earth is in ruins. Kasi is the last known city. It is ruled by Supreme Yaskin, a 200-year-old god king. Yaskin resides in the Complex, a massive inverted-pyramid that floats above the city. His rule is strict and totalitarian. Commander Manas, Counsellor Bani, and an army of soldiers enforce his commands.

The Shambhalan rebels, hiding in a secret city, resist Yaskin's rule. They believe in the prophecy of Kalki’s return. Yaskin's Project K forces fertile women into experiments. The project aims to create a serum using the foetuses of these women. However, neither the mothers nor the foetuses survive the process.

Raia and Ashwatthama
Raia, a young girl, is disguised as a boy. She narrowly escapes being taken for Project K. Shambhalan rebels help her. She takes refuge in a cave. There, she meets Ashwatthama, unaware of his true identity. She carries his divine gem, which had fallen into her possession. When he places the gem back into his forehead, Ashwatthama regains his divine awareness. He realizes that a woman is carrying Kalki. Together, they set out to find her.

SUM-80 and the Complex
In the Complex, SUM-80 hides her pregnancy for 150 days. She is eventually discovered and forced to undergo the extraction process. The procedure extracts a single drop of serum from her unborn child. Before further harm can come to her, rebels rescue her. They rename her Sumathi. On their way to Shambhala, the rebels face multiple threats. Bounty hunters and raiders pursue them. Bhairava, a skilled bounty hunter, tracks them using his AI-powered supercar, Bujji.

The group faces soldiers from the Complex. Ashwatthama and Bhairava intervene. They defeat the soldiers and protect Sumathi. It is revealed that Sumathi is the mother of Kalki.

Shambhala and the Tree of Life
The group reaches Shambhala. The mystical tree of life blooms in Kalki’s presence. Ashwatthama reveals a secret about his walking stick. It is actually the Vijaya Dhanush, a powerful bow that once belonged to Karna. Meanwhile, Bhairava tricks a rebel into taking him to Shambhala. He disguises himself as Ashwatthama and deceives Sumathi. He convinces her to leave Shambhala with him. However, the real Ashwatthama intercepts him.

Betrayal and Battle
Manas and his soldiers attack Shambhala. They breach its defenses, overwhelming the rebels. Shambhala’s leader, Mariam, is killed while protecting Sumathi. Bhairava and Ashwatthama fight during the chaos. Bhairava is knocked unconscious. Ashwatthama is captured by Manas. During the battle, a leaf from the tree of life and Ashwatthama’s bow fall into Bhairava's hands. Bhairava is revealed to be connected to Karna. The bow awakens his power.

In a trance-like state, Bhairava wields the Vijaya Dhanush. He defeats Manas and his soldiers with ease. After the battle, Bhairava regains his senses. He takes Sumathi and leaves Shambhala. Ashwatthama looks on but does not stop him.

Mid-Credits Scene
In a mid-credits scene, Yaskin uses the drop of serum on himself. The serum grants him youth and superhuman powers. He picks up Gandiva, Arjuna's legendary bow. With renewed strength, he vows to reshape the world.
