Venom: The Last Dance is a 2024 American superhero film. It was written and directed by Kelly Marcel. The movie features the Marvel Comics character Venom. It is the final installment of the Venom trilogy, following Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021). It is the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU).

Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock and Venom. The cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, Clark Backo, Alanna Ubach, and Andy Serkis.

In 2018, Tom Hardy confirmed his involvement in a third Venom movie. By December 2021, Sony Pictures began development after the release of the second film. Marcel and Hardy started writing the script in June 2022. Marcel was confirmed as the director in October 2022.

New cast members, including Ejiofor and Temple, joined in 2023. Filming started in June 2023 in Spain. However, production stopped in July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming resumed in November and was completed by February 2024. The film's title was revealed in March 2024.

The movie premiered in New York City on October 21, 2024. It was released in the U.S. on October 25, 2024. Critics gave it mixed reviews. It grossed $468 million worldwide, making it the 10th highest-grossing film of 2024.

Eddie Brock and Venom are drinking in a bar in Mexico. They are on the run after their fight with Carnage. Eddie is blamed for the apparent murder of Patrick Mulligan. To clear his name, he heads to New York City.

A creature called a Xenophage begins hunting Eddie and Venom. Rex Strickland, a soldier at Area 51, also tracks them. Strickland’s mission is to capture and study symbiotes. Mulligan, who survived his encounter with Carnage, is found by Strickland. Mulligan is bonded with another symbiote.

Eddie and Venom try to board a plane to New York. However, the Xenophage attacks them, forcing them to land in the Nevada desert. Venom explains that Xenophages were sent by Knull, the symbiote creator. They are searching for a Codex, which is inside Eddie and Venom.

The Codex was created when Venom revived Eddie, and it could release Knull from his prison. Eddie and Venom meet Martin Moon, a hippie, who takes them to Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Mulligan learns that the Codex can only be destroyed if Eddie or Venom dies.

In Las Vegas, Eddie and Venom meet Mrs. Chen at a casino. Venom dances with her but is attacked by the Xenophage. Strickland’s team captures Eddie and Venom, taking them to Area 51. Mulligan and Eddie reunite there.

A researcher named Sadie frees Venom. Venom bonds with Eddie again and fights the Xenophage. Mulligan dies during the battle. Venom releases the other symbiotes to help. The Xenophage signals Knull, who sends more creatures to Earth.

Venom realizes he must sacrifice himself to destroy the Codex. He merges with the Xenophages and leads them into acid tanks. Before dying, Venom says goodbye to Eddie. Strickland sets off grenades, destroying the base.

Eddie wakes up in a hospital. He learns that his record has been cleared if he keeps the events secret. In New York, Eddie looks at the Statue of Liberty, remembering Venom.
